Xiaomi Mi Band 4 is officially launched yesterday in China and it has several major upgrades compared to the Mi Band 3 in addition to getting three variants of the model.

The Mi Band 4 is more attractive because it comes with colours in its 0.95-inch AMOLED display and has a 2.5D scratch-resistant glass. Not only is it bigger than the Mi Band 3, it also has a higher resolution of 120x240p.

The Mi Band 4 is also equipped with high precision accelerometer that will support swimming stroke recognition, meaning it can recognise various swimming styles like butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke and so on. Since you can take it to swimming, the Mi Band 4 is obviously waterproof as it has a 5ATM rating which allows it to be in water up to 50 meters deep.

For those who look for more functionality, the Mi Band 4 also supports voice commands via the Xiao AI voice assistant as it has a built-in microphone. It can be used to control IoT devices and now comes with NFC support and Bluetooth 5.0. More importantly, the new Mi Band 4 is said to be able to last 15 day for the NFC model and 20 days for the non-NFC model.

The standard version of Mi Band 4 is available in four colours — Black, Brown, Blue, Orange and Pink and costs CNY169. The NFC version will cost slightly more at CNY229, and the Avenger limited edition band will cost CNY349. Its global pricing and availability remains unknown.
