After releasing several teasers, Xiaomi sub-brand Redmi has finally revealed the launch date of its flagship K20 smartphone. In a post on Chinese microblogging site Weibo, Redmi has confirmed that the K20 flagship smartphone will be launched in China on May 28. Apart from the launch date, Xiaomi founder Lei Jun has confirmed the Redmi K20 will utilize a 48MP Sony IMX586 primary sensor.

The Sony IMX586 is the same sensor that Xiaomi uses in the Redmi Note 7 Pro. OnePlus’ latest flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 7 Pro also uses the same sensor. In addition to the 48-megapixel primary camera, the Redmi K20 is rumored to sport a 13MP resolution ultra-wide-angle snapper and an 8MP telephoto module. It is expected to come equipped with a 20MP resolution popup camera for selfies and video calls.

In addition to the Redmi K20, the brand is expected to take the wraps off the Redmi K20 Pro as well at its launch event in China next Tuesday. Both the Redmi K20 and K20 Pro are expected to run on Qualcomm’s 7nm Snapdragon 855 octa-core chipset with liquid cooling technology, similar to last year’s Pocophone F1.

The company will also be unveiling the RedmiBook 14 at the event, its very first notebook. According to a recent leak, the RedmiBook 14 will come with a 14-inch display featuring Full HD resolution and up to an 8th Generation Intel Core i7 processor.
