While Chang Cheng, the CEO of Chinese OEM and Lenovo subsidiary ZUK has claimed that he spent a day with the ZUK Z2 and the alleged Exynos 8890 chip was good, the company itself has released a teaser image of the Z2, with a full-on Qualcomm Snapdragon logo in it, which is also the first thing you’ll see before the series of Chinese characters below it.
Confusion? we’re guessing so. But it could be possible that the ZUK Z2 could pack two different processors with similar processing power. Such is the case of the Galaxy S7 series, which has either a Snapdragon 820 or Samsung’s own Exynos 8890 under the hood. Nevertheless, the China launch of the ZUK Z2 is set for May 31, a week from now.
The Z2 is rumored to sport either a Snapdragon 652 or a Snapdragon 820 processor with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, which could mean a possibility of a lower-end and a higher end model of the handset. On the display side, the device is said to feature a 4.7-inch Full HD display. The rest of the specs include a camera pair of 13MP/8MP, plus a larger than usual 4,100mAh battery. Guess we’ll just have to wait for the Z2 event to find out whether or not the ZUK Z2 will be packing an Exynos chip instead.
