ZTE will release a smartwatch called Quartz

With ZTE now having a stable presence in the smartphone market, the company now eyeing the smartwatch market as well. To do so, it appears that ZTE will be launching its first Android Wear 2.0-powered smartwatch called Quartz.

The watch itself was spotted when it was in the process of getting its Bluetooth certification under the model number ZW10. While the actual specifications of the Quartz has not been leaked so far, the certification process did reveal that the smartwatch will come with Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity that would allow the watch to connect to the internet even if it is not paired to a smartphone.

As promotional materials for the Quartz is supposedly “still in development”, it appears that the smartwatch itself is still quite a while away from being a fully functional product. Should that be the case, it is unlikely that ZTE will be showing off this watch at the upcoming MWC event at Barcelona.
