Zepp Health, a leading provider of smart wearable health technology, and more well known as the makers of Amazfit smartwatches, has announced a significant update to its Zepp OS 3.5, featuring the innovative AI-powered Zepp Flow for the Amazfit Balance models.
This update introduces the first operating system to incorporate a Natural-Language User Interface (LUI) driven by a large language model (LLM) AI, enabling users to interact with their devices through natural speech.
The Zepp Flow technology allows users to communicate with their wearable devices in a conversational manner, making it easier to manage various functions such as scheduling, replying to notifications, and checking the weather. By integrating AI into all aspects of Zepp OS 3.5, the device can recognize and execute commands based on the user’s voice, offering a more personalized and seamless experience.
Ms. Chow Kar Mun, Marketing Manager-Malaysia, highlighted the revolutionary impact of Zepp FlowTM on health technology. “The Natural-Language User Interface, powered by LLM AI, offers a seamless, user-friendly way to monitor and maintain a healthier lifestyle. Users simply describe their needs, and Zepp FlowTM will recognize and provide the most appropriate response,” she said.
Enhanced Features in Zepp OS 3.5
Marathon Training: The update supports half and full marathon training through the Zepp CoachTM, which includes new features like the Confidence Index and Plan Completion Rate to provide training insights.
HRV Recording: Sleep Heart Rate Variability (HRV) tracking monitors heartbeat variations, offering insights into the user’s recovery state, stress levels, and post-exercise recovery. Complete records of the previous night’s HRV data are available for a holistic understanding of well-being.
WhatsApp Integration: Users can view WhatsApp image messages directly on the Amazfit Balance smartwatch when received via WhatsApp on an Android device.
Offline Maps: Enhanced navigation features include intuitive road names for better guidance during running, hiking, or exploring new places.
New Sports Modes: The update adds new activities to the sports modes list, including bouldering and indoor rock climbing.
Running Power Tracking: This feature provides insights into power performance during runs.
Winter Sports: The update enhances the experience for snowboarding and skiing, with trail navigation and resort maps.
Future Developments
Malaysia is set to see the launch of more AI technology in July 2024 with the introduction of the Zepp Aura personal wellness assistant. Zepp Aura will include features such as sleep and stress management, health reporting, soothing soundscapes, and sleep analysis. Combined with Zepp Flow, Zepp Aura promises to be a groundbreaking addition to health technology.
