Believe it or not, YouTube has been around for 12 years now. The world’s most popular streaming app has come a long way along with the advancement of technology, from 240p videos to support for 8K videos on the platform, though still extremely difficult to stream on most devices to date. YouTube has announced a new look for its logo and some welcome changes to its mobile app which will come in handy.
The redesigned logo of YouTube is said to be more visible and flexible to be viewed on various platforms and devices, “a cleaned up version of the YouTube wordmark and and icon”. The fresh logo design is currently on the roll out to mobile and desktop platforms today.
The company has also gotten some revamping done to its mobile app. First off, the navigation tabs have been moved to the bottom of the app for easier access, along with the addition of the Library and Account tabs. The app will soon enable users to switch between videos just by swiping to the left or right when watching a video. You can also change the speed of the videos you watch, a feature which was previously exclusive on the desktop. Catch the low down of the new features at the source link below.
YouTube has evolved greatly over the past decade or so. With this new look and a redesigned app interface, we can only hope that our favorite video streaming platform will venture to greater heights.
