It wasn’t too long ago when the Redmi Note series was launched but the sub-brand of Xiaomi is already in progress of developing the Redmi Note 8 series.
According to Lu Weibing — the Vice President of Xiaomi and General Manager of Redmi, the Redmi Note 8 will be more powerful than its predecessor and the first to sport a MediaTek Helio G90T processor. The current Redmi Note 7 is powered by a Snapdragon 660 processor and has a 6.3-inch LCD display.
The Redmi Note 7 also has a dual rear camera with a 48MP main lens. The Redmi Note 8 is said to go even further with a 64MP main camera, something that Realme recently announced to reveal on August 8.
As for the chipset, the MediaTek Helio G90T will be more powerful than the Helio G90 — MediaTek’s latest chipset in its G-series made for gaming purposes. It is also integrated with MediaTek’s HyperEngine game technology which allows connection to two separate bands simultaneously for better network stability.
In the meantime, Xiaomi also has an event planned on August 7 that revolves around the 64MP camera technology.
