Xiaomi Global Vice President Manu Kumar Jain recently teased the launch of a new smartphone powered by a Qualcomm 700-series chip. XDA-developers editor-in-chief Mishaal Rahman has now shared some evidence suggesting the upcoming Mi A3 and Mi A3 Lite smartphones from the brand will feature Snapdragon 700-series processors.
According to the latest leak, Xiaomi’s Mi A3, Mi A3 Lite, and the Mi 6X successor will all feature Snapdragon 700-series chipsets. The Mi A3 Lite is expected to have the older Snapdragon 710 chipset running under its hood. On the other hand, the Mi A3 and the Mi 7X are likely to be powered by the newer Snapdragon 712 chipset.

Previous rumors have claimed the Mi A3 will be equipped with an OLED display featuring an under-display fingerprint sensor. Going by all the leaks that have surfaced on the web so far, the Mi A3 is shaping up to be a massive upgrade over the Mi A2.
The Mi A3, Mi A3 Lite, as well as the Mi 6X successor are expected to be unveiled before the end of the current quarter. While the Mi A3 and Mi A3 Lite will be Android One smartphones running stock Android Pie out of the box, the Mi 7X will be running on Xiaomi’s Pie-based MIUI 10.
