Xiaomi has finally pulled back the curtains on the Mi Note 2, and we’ve got to say that phone itself looks similar to another flagship smartphone that is developed in another country located in Asia.
Part of the similarity can be boiled down to its design. The Mi Note 2 is the first Xiaomi smartphone to utilise a flexible OLED display. This flexible OLED display, which is accompanied by a 3D curved glass, allows the Mi Note 2 to be the first Xiaomi phone to sport a dual-curved display. The display itself measures 5.7 inches and comes with a 110% NTSC colour gamut and a 100,000:1 contrast ratio.
In terms of specifications, the Mi Note 2 will be equipped with Qualcomm’s flagship processor, the Snapdragon 821. The Mi Note 2 will also pack up to 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM, 128GB of UFS 2.0 storage, and a 4,070mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support. For the media side of things, the Mi Note 2 will come with an AQSTIC audio processor for superior audio quality. The Mi Note 2 will also come with a built-in assisted positioning sensor, allowing the phone to sense your location accurate despite weak GPS signals.

Finally, the Mi Note 2 will sport a 23MP rear camera that uses Sony’s IMX 318 sensor. It will come with phase detection autofocus, electronic image stabilization as well as a f/2.0 lens. Meanwhile, the front camera will be an 8MP shooter that uses Sony’s IMX 268 sensor, and comes with a f/2.0 lens.
Much like many of Xiaomi’s other phones, the Mi Note 2 will come in three variants. The base version with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage will retail for CNY2,799 (RM1,721), the 6GB RAM – 128GB storage version will go for CNY3,299 (RM2,029), while the flagship model with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage will be sold at CNY3,499 (RM2,152).
