Xiaomi Mi A1 to be available by end of September for RM1,199

The Mi A1 is technically the fastest Xiaomi smartphone to be made available locally after its global launch, as our friends at Xiaomi Kluang, who is an authorized reseller of Xiaomi, has started taking pre-orders of Xiaomi’s first Android One device for the price of RM1,199, which is similarly priced to the grey import Chinese version of the handset, the Xiaomi Mi 5X.

The Mi A1 has the same exact hardware of the Xiaomi Mi 5X, the phone comes with a Snapdragon 625 processor with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, its dual camera setup is similar to the one on the Mi 6 while lacking optical stabilization. Unlike the Mi 5X, the Mi A1 ships with a vanilla flavor of Android Nougat as opposed to Xiaomi’s MIUI software, the phone has the advantage of receiving the latest version of Android for at least two years, making it an excellent alternative to Google’s more expensive Pixel devices.

If you want to get your hands on the Mi A1, do check out our friends at Xiaomi Kluang, they do offer mail delivery services as long as you are located in Malaysia.
