Xiaomi introduces the Mi 8 in Malaysia with a starting price of RM1599

Xiaomi Malaysia has brought in their highly-anticipated Mi 8 flagship phones to the market. The phone comes with the latest hardware, AI dual cameras and dual frequency GPS for accurate navigation.

The phone will be available in two variants, 6GB RAM 64GB storage and 6GB RAM 128GB storage. It comes equipped with the latest Snapdragon 845 processor alongside the Adreno 630 graphics chip to handle the most demanding games and application that needs the power and a 6.21-inch FHD+ AMOLED display. Powering the device is a 3400mAh battery which supports Quick Charge 4+ for super fast and safe charging.

On the rear, you will find a dual 12MP camera setup which has received a DxoMark of 105 for its photo taking capabilities. On the front, is a 20MP sensor with a pixel size of 1.8um for low light photography. It also features an AI Studio Lighting feature that is similar to what the iPhone X already has. The Mi 8 comes with face unlock which uses the infrared camera paired with a dedicated infrared illuminator for fast face unlocking even in pitch black environments.

The Mi 8 will be available starting 18 August and will come in three colours of Black, Blue and White. The 64GB storage variant will retail for RM1599 and the 128GB model retails for RM1899.
