Xiaomi announces the Redmi Note 4

Yesterday, Xiaomi teased a new smartphone that is rumoured to be the Redmi Note 4. Today, the company has officially launched the Redmi Note 4, and it will be available in China from tomorrow.

So what can you expect of the Redmi Note 4. Well, for starters, the Redmi Note 4 has received some design upgrades, with the smartphone now sporting a full metal unibody design, chamfered edges, and a 5.5″ Full HD 2.5D curved glass display, making this device far more premium that its predecessors.

Next up, the specifications. The Redmi Note 4 will be powered by MediaTek’s Helio X20 processor, a deca-core (10 core) processor. The Redmi Note 4 will come in two different specifications, with the cheaper one running on 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, while the flagship version runs on 3GB of RAM with 64GB of storage. Storage space on either devices are expandable via MicroSD cards. The Redmi Note 4 will come with a 4100mAh battery, a fingerprint sensor, and a hybrid dual-SIM slot for you SIM cards and microSD cards. The phone itself will run on Android Marshmallow with Xiaomi’s own MIUI 8 skin.

For the camera, the Redmi Note 4 will have a 13MP rear camera with a f/2.0 aperture, dual-tone LED flash and PDAF, while the front camera is a 5MP shooter with an f/2.0 aperture and an 85-degree wide-angle lens.

The Redmi Note 4 will be available in three colours: silver, gold and dark grey. Xiaom  will begin sales of the Redmi Note 4 in China tomorrow, with the 2GB RAM – 16GB variant going for CNY 899 (RM 545), while the flagship 3GB – 64GB variant going for CNY 1199 (RM 727).
