World Emoji Day: Apple previews new emojis and Memoji

In conjunction with World Emoji Day, Apple has revealed new Memoji and emojis that match the current trends and situation of the society.

World Emoji Day: New Memoji

In iOS 14, you’ll get more options to personalise your Memoji. There will be new hairstyles such as man bun, top knot and waves, in addition to new headwear that includes a nurse cap, swim cap and cyclist helmet.

Our lifestyle has changed due to COVID-19; in response to that, Apple is adding face coverings so you can accessorise your Memoji to match the reality. Apple is also redesigning the facial and muscle structure for users to create more expressive Memoji characters. Your Memoji stickers will also be increased to 39 with the addition of three new ones.

New emojis including bubble tea, ninja and more!

Finally, there’s an emoji for bubble tea. Bubble tea became so viral last year that Apple probably believes it needs a spot in the world of emoji. Other than the new bubble tea emoji, Apple added emojis including a boomerang, anatomical heart, ninja, nesting dolls and more. There’s even a transgender symbol to show support for the LGBT community.

These emojis will be available this fall in a software update for iPhones, iPads, Macs and Apple Watches.
