It has been nearly two months since OnePlus launched its latest flagship the OnePlus 5. The company skipped the “4” figure as it translates to “death” in the Chinese language, but the OnePlus 5 seems to be doing fine so far. The last time a company skipped a number for its smartphone, it didn’t end too well (the Galaxy Note 7).
Earlier today, OnePlus has announced that something new will be coming up, with a teaser of a OnePlus 5 phone, alongside the current Slate Gray and Midnight Black variants of the current flagship. We aren’t shooting down the possibility of a OnePlus 5T, but that seems highly unlikely. Instead, we predict that OnePlus will be unveiling a new color option for the OnePlus 5.
Remember this image by OnePlus asking its fans for their color preference of their next device? It is possible that the next color option for the OnePlus 5 will be from the colors shown above. Since the black color is already existent, and the unicorn color seems pretty unlikely, that leaves us with two colors – red and gold. There is a higher chance of a gold OnePlus 5 given the availability of a Soft Gold OnePlus 3T, but a Red OnePlus 5 shouldn’t disappoint as well.
