Emojis now play an important role in social media in messaging. It is a vital form of expression that complements words that are being typed out. There’s even a movie about emojis but we shall not dive into that as WhatsApp now has its own set of emojis since its birth.
WhatsApp has been borrowing Apple’s emojis since the beginning, or more like outright using the company’s collection of ever growing emojis. Over the years, companies such as Google and Samsung have also developed their own versions of emojis, and the folks at WhatsApp have finally took the initiative to make their own.
The image above shows the a bunch of WhatsApp’s new emojis that are currently available on WhatsApp beta. Of course, they still look pretty much similar to Apple’s, as straying too far from Apple’s emojis will only turn people away. It might not be WhatsApp’s best decision to make its own emojis after so long but it is definitely worth a shot.
It will be made official soon, that the world’s most popular messaging app will implement its own set of emojis to the general public. What do you think?
