Western Digital has brought two new storage devices in the Pro series to the Malaysian market. The devices in question is the My Passport Wireless Pro Wi-Fi mobile storage, and the My Cloud Pro Series network attached storage (NAS), both of which are designed for the creative community.

First up, the My Passport Wireless Pro Wi-Fi mobile storage. As the name implies, this version of the My Passport allows the user to backup, save, edit and trasfer their work to the device seamlessly via a direct Wi-Fi connection. Up to eight other devices are able to connect to the drive at any one time. Tethered connections are also available and the device does come with a built-in SD card reader and a USB 2.0 port.

The devices comes with up to 3TB of storage space and has a battery life of up to 10 hours. Said battery capacity also allows the My Passport Wireless Pro to function as an emergency power bank, allowing you to charge phones and other devices. Last but not least, the My Passport Wireless Pro is compatible with Adobe’s Creative Cloud for mobile photo and video editing, as well as compatibility with Plex Media Server, giving the device the capability to play up to four streams of content while on-the-go. The My Passport Wireless Pro 3TB variant will retail for RM 1,099.

Where the My Passport Wireless Pro is meant for those who work on-the-go, the My Cloud Pro Series NAS is meant for editing and studio work. With up to 32TB of storage, the My Cloud Pro Series NAS allows you to import from cameras, memory card readers, and other USB storage with a simple one touch backup button. All you need to do so is to connect your cameras and compatibles USB storage devices, and press a button.

Besides storage, the My Cloud Pro Series NAS also comes with a hardware accelerated video processor, giving the NAS powerful transcoding capabilities. This feature allows you to ingest, edit, store and stream content to and from popular formats, including 4K video. Much like the My Passport Wireless Pro Wi-Fi, the My Cloud Pro Series NAS is compatible with Adobe’s Creative Cloud and Plex Media Server. The diskless My Cloud Pro 2-bay NAS will have a retail price of up to RM 4,599 for the 16TB variant, while the 4-bay variant will have a retail price of up to RM7,999 for the 32TB variant.
