As seen on vivo’s official Weibo account, the vivo X70 series has been confirmed to launch in China on September 9. While the teaser photos and videos only showed the vivo X70 Pro+, we’re expecting to see three models in this series.
Malaysia launch confirmed!
Meanwhile, vivo Malaysia has announced its latest X70 series online launch event happening on 22 September 2021. It will come with an ultra-sensing gimbal camera that supposedly has better stabilisation than previous models so it can offer steady videos even in less optimal scenarios.
vivo X70 series will have three models in total
According to the vivo X70 lineup in China, it should consists of the vivo X70, vivo X70 Pro and vivo X70 Pro+. All three devices will have an ultra-sensing gimbal camera and ZEISS T* coating which reduces reflections from the lens surface to prevent ghost images and light flares.
How the ZEISS T* coating works is it reduces the loss of light transmission to preserve high contrast and colour vibrancy. In addition to that, ZEISS also said that the T* coating “serves as an effective, hard surface sealant that protects the partly sensitive optical glass.” On the other hand, the lineup’s ultra-sensing gimbal camera tackles the video stability issue that users often face in shaky/low-light conditions.
Rumoured specs
As for the three phones, vivo mostly teased the about the highest-end model, the vivo X70 Pro+. It comes with a quad-camera setup in an L-shaped arrangement on the right, while its left has a reflective glass with vivo and ZEISS logos. The vivo X70 Pro is also expected to come with a quad-camera setup, but the vivo X70 will miss out on the periscope lens, sporting a 40MP lens paired with 12MP and 13MP lenses.
Rumours also suggest that the X70 and X70 Pro will support 44W fast charging and pack a 4,400mah battery each. They’ll also share a 6.56-inch AMOLED display that pushes FHD+ resolution and supports a 120Hz refresh rate.
Internals-wise, the X70 and X70 Pro may be powered by either the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chip or the Exynos 1080 chip. The vivo X70 Pro+ will be even more powerful as it’s suggested to come with a Snapdragon 888+ chip, a 6.78-inch curved OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and pushes 2K resolution. It will also have a bigger 4,500mAh battery that supports 55W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
