The vivo X60 series has just been launched and they’re impressive flagships that put heavy emphasis on camera quality. The brand has worked with popular German lens makers ZEISS to co-engineer the imaging system on the X60 smartphones.
Both models come with a 6.56-inch AMOLED display along with support for up to 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+. The X60 Pro packs an Ultra-O 3D curved display, while the regular X60 comes with a flat screen.
Over on the back is an anti-glare frosted panel that feels almost satin-like – you get two colours options which are Shimmer Blue, and Midnight Black. Both phones are 7.36mm to 7.69mm thin, and weigh below 180 grams, making them easy to hold in the hands.
Under the hood is a Snapdragon 870 chipset that’s basically a more powerful Snapdragon 865+ – making the vivo X60 a bona fide flagship smartphone series. You also get up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. What’s interesting is that 3GB of the phone’s storage can be used as RAM, giving you extra juice when you need to have a lot of apps running at one time.
Over to the big selling point of the series – the ZEISS engineered cameras. The vivo X60 Pro sports a 64MP main lens, along with a 13MP ultrawide shooter and a 13MP portrait lens. The regular X60 will lack the new Gimbal Stabilization 2.0, but will sport the older 5-axis system instead.
A neat feature on the photography side of things is the ZEISS Biotar portrait mode that adds the brand’s signature spiral bokeh effect to a portrait shot. There’s also the improved Gimbal Stabilization 2.0 feature on the X60 Pro that promises steadier videos compared to its predecessor.
Night Mode is improved with Super Night Mode as well as Ultra-Wide Night Mode; together with Extreme Night Vision 2.0, the phone can reduce image noise even in very dark environments.
Also a new addition is the Sports Mode that lets you snap images of fast-moving subjects; there’s long exposure mode too for those who like admiring the night sky, or making pretty light trails.
The vivo X60 is priced from RM2,699, while the vivo X60 Pro costs RM3,299. Pre-orders start today and ends this 26 March. Visit vivo’s online store, or Lazada and Shopee stores to make your purchase.
