The vivo X50 and vivo X50 Pro’s specs have been officially announced ahead of its launch this 21 June. With this, vivo brings the first smartphone with a gimbal camera.
vivo X50 Pro
Starting with the top-spec vivo X50 Pro, you get a sizeable 6.56-inch display FHD+ AMOLED display that pushes a refresh rate of 90Hz. The display is also HDR10+ certified which means it outputs a wider gamut of colours.
Over on the cameras are what truly sells the vivo X50 Pro – you’re talking about a 48MP main lens which also boasts the gimbal system. The camera moves around in its housing in relation to the users’ movements too, and as a result creates highly steady shots on the phone.
The phone also comes with an 8MP super wide-angle camera, a 13MP portrait lens, and an 8MP 5x telescopic camera. For selfies, you get a 32MP front-facing camera.
Under the hood, the vivo X50 Pro comes with a Snapdragon 765G chipset – vivo Malaysia hasn’t disclosed the memory and storage configurations yet, but we can expect up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage based on the Indian launch which happened earlier today.
The phone packs a 4,315mAh battery with support of up to 33W of fast charging.
vivo X50
The regular vivo X50 packs the same display features as its bigger sibling – the only downgrade it has are in the camera department. It still has a 48MP quad-camera system but without the gimbal module. For selfies, you also get a capable 32MP shooter.
In terms of hardware, the X50 comes equipped with the same Snapdragon 765G chipset but it has a smaller 4,200mAh battery with the same 33W fast charging support.
The regular X50 will be available in Frost Blue and Glaze Black, while the X50 Pro will come in Alpha Grey. The official local pricing will be announced when the phone launches this 21 July. You can watch the live stream on their official Facebook page here.
