vivo Malaysia is set to start the new year with a bang, as it has teased the arrival of the vivo X100 series flagship camera phones to be on the 3rd January 2024.
As usual, we are expecting two models to come within the series – the vivo X100 and X100 Pro, there isn’t a Pro+ model being announced even at the company’s China launch and even when that happens, there is a slim chance that it will be brought to our market.
The vivo X100 series are powered by the Mediatek Dimensity 9300 chipset, which is the direct competitor to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and has seen it toppled the latter in benchmarks, but more importantly, these phones are set to come with improved imaging performance and algorithms, the vivo X100 Pro will continue to feature a 50MP 1-inch main sensor, but its telephoto camera is now a 50MP APO Zeiss lens and a 50MP ultrawide camera, while the regular vivo X100 will feature a smaller 50MP main sensor, 64MP telephoto and 50MP ultrawide angle cameras.
We should also expect a huge improvement in battery life on these phones, as the vivo X100 Pro will have a beefy 5400mAh battery that supports 100W fast charging and 50W fast wireless charging, while the vivo X100 will feature a 5000mAh battery with support for 120W fast charging and no wireless charging support.
The only thing left to speculate is the storage variant the vivo Malaysia is bringing in, as the vivo X100 series can be equipped with up to 1TB of internal storage, which will be a joy to smartphone photographers as the current base 256GB storage is just too little for storing photos, but we won’t be surprised if vivo brings in the 256GB storage variant for the X100 and the 512GB storage variant for the X100 Pro.
