It was just two months ago when Vivo launched the V7+, a budget mid range device with a full screen display on the front. It is rather odd that a company releases a Plus variant of a smartphone before the regular variant, and that is exactly what Vivo did. As 2017 comes to a close in less than two months, Vivo finally takes the wraps off the regular V7 smartphone, which is a smaller version of the current V7+.

Apart from the screen size, it is hard to separate the Vivo V7 from the V7+. Speaking of which, the former comes with a 5.7-inch display with an 18:9 aspect ratio in HD+ resolution. The phone should come a little smaller than the form factor of a traditional 5.5-inch smartphone. Underneath the hood lies the same Snapdragon 450 processor with 4GB of RAM. Storage however has been halved from the Vivo V7+, making it 32GB instead of 64GB. It is however expandable via the micro SD slot.

The Vivo V7 comes with a pretty standard sounding 16MP rear camera with an f/2.0 aperture and LED flash equipped. Like its larger sibling, the front facing camera is a whole different story. Known for its selfie centric handsets, Vivo has also fitted the V7 with a 24MP front facing shooter, which also features VivoFace Access, a form of facial recognition technology to unlock the phone. Not forgetting Vivo’s own Smart Beauty 7.0 as well which can brighten up selfie shots. The phone packs a 3,000mAh battery.

The Vivo V7 has yet to reach Malaysian shores but will be expected to launch by the end of November. The phone has already gone on sale on Lazada Indonesia with a price tag of RP 3,799,000 (RM 1,169.04). This will probably translate to a RM 1,199 price tag, considering that the Vivo V7+ costs RM 1,499. What do you think?
