After arriving in India with some fanfare – the vivo V17 Pro has now made its way to Malaysia. You may have seen our unboxing of the device already, but if you haven’t watch it here:
Despite being launched so soon after its older sibling, the V15 Pro, this iteration looks and feels far more premium than its predecessor. This is part in due to its classy Corning Gorilla Glass back design that shimmers ever so slightly in the light. The curved edges of the phone make the mammoth device a surprisingly easy phone to hold too. On top of that, the aluminium bumpers add a nice touch to the already premium-feeling device.
Over on the front is a 6.44-inch Ultra FullView AMOLED display that pushes 1080p resolution. You’ll also realize that the bezels are very thin with no selfie camera notches. That’s because the phone boast a dual selfie lens pop up module on the front! The main lens is a 32MP shooter that’s coupled with an 8MP ultrawide lens, useful for group selfies.
Meanwhile, you’ll find a quad-camera setup over on the back – 48MP main + 8MP Super Wide-Angle lens + 2MP macro lens + 2MP depth sensor. The local variant of the phone varies from the India version in that the 2MP macro lens replaces the 13MP telephoto lens you’d get there.
In terms of hardware, the vivo V17 Pro packs a Snapdragon 675 SoC with 8GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The phone is powered by a 4,100mAh battery that charges via USB C and supports up to 18W fast charging.
The phone is available in Crystal White and Knight Black, and retails at RM1,699. The phone is available from today onward via major telcos as well as at partner retailers. Visit the vivo website for more information about the phone and where you can purchase it.
