TM should probably start looking behind them as Singaporean boutique ISP ViewQwest has officially entered the Malaysian market today.

According to a report by The Straits Times, ViewQwest’s entry to Malaysia is a joint venture project done in partnership with Malaysian telecommunication firm Televentures. Since the beginning of 2016, both sides have been busy rolling out its network in key areas around Kuala Lumpur and Selangor. These key areas includes the Golden Triangle, Bangsar South and Cyberjaya.

Currently, ViewQwest does not have any commercial Internet plans available, but the company is looking to introduce a 1Gbps fibre Internet plan by the end of 2016. Coverage-wise, expect the availability of ViewQwest’s internet plan to be limited to the areas mentioned above. Alongside the internet plan, ViewQwest is also looking to introduce its own virtual private network (VPN) services to Malaysians which is incorporated in its own media streaming box.

In the meantime, businesses located in selected commericial buildings around the Golden Triangle, Bangsar South and Cyberjaya are able to sign up for ViewQwest’s corporate internet plan.
