When Sony dropped the Vaio brand, it was just left stagnant and eventually, no one heard about it for four years. However today, a company by the name of Nexstgo has revived the brand and at the same time released two laptops, the Vaio S11 and S13.
Both the laptops come with a simple business-like look with a sleek metal finish. Specs wise, the laptops come with an 8th Generation Intel Core i5 or i7 processor alongside the Intel UHD Graphics 620. Vaio has also added their TruePerformance technology which they claimed will fully utilize Intel’s Turbo Boost Technology and a specially designed heat pipe will improve heat dissipation by 33%. The TruePerformance 8th Gen i5 processor is able to outperform a normal i7 processor. Other than that, it comes with 8GB or 16GB of LPDDR3 RAM for the S11 and 4GB to 16GB of LPDDR3 RAM for the S13, and 128GB or 512GB PCIe SSD storage.
Ports-wise it comes with three USB 3.0 ports, HDMI port, VGA port, Ethernet port, SD card reader and a 3.5mm jack. All these technologies are packed into a 15mm body and weighs only 1.07kg for the S13 and 0.85kg for the S11.
Vaio has said that the S13 will have a battery life of up to 8 hours and the S11 will offer 11 hours of battery life. Both the laptops will support rapid charging which will give you 80% of battery in just 1 hour.
The S11 and S13 will come to Malaysia by the end of August and the S11 comes in five colours of Black, Brown, Pink, Silver and Black, while the S13 will come in just Black and Sliver. They have not confirmed the pricing yet, but they will be announcing it soon so stay tuned.
