Uber has just rolled out a new feature to their mobile app, known as Saved Places. With Saved Places, users are now able to bookmark and save various locations within the app. With this new feature, riders are no longer required to crack their heads over complicated addresses and easily forgotten unfamiliar locations.
Users have been able to save locations in the Uber app, but only limited to “Home” and “Work”. Saved Places goes beyond that, even allowing users to give these bookmarked locations custom names. An added bonus is that you can also spice these titles up with emojis, as allowed in the app. Instead of only having your home and work place as saved locations, you can now have your favorite park or a lesser known bar to be saved in the app instead of having to enter the address every time you book an Uber ride.
In order to access Saved Places, just tap on “Where To?”, and then select “more saved places” to open the list of your previously saved locations. Uber has mentioned that this feature was mostly used for airports, hotels and colleges during the early stages of testing. Saved Places is now available on both the iOS and Android versions of the Uber app in the United States. It will roll out globally later this year.
