U Mobile teams up with AEON Credit for U MicroCredit financing scheme

U Mobile has announced today that it will be partnering with AEON Credit to provide flexible payment plans for its customers who wish to purchase iPhones.

The easy payment plan is implemented courtesy of AEON credit and is offered up to a period of 36 months. Customers have the option to go for full financing for the iPhone with interest rates as low as 1.1% monthly.

Being the first Asian telco to offer device purchase financing, this scheme was introduced last March and has proven to be popular among the telco’s consumers. However, U Mobile were only capable of financing up to RM 3,500 with interest rates of up to 1.5% monthly, hence the exclusive partnership with AEON credit to create further flexibility.

This scheme does not require any initial payment or deposit and can be granted to U Mobile customers who are eligible, subject to terms and conditions. An iPhone 6s 16GB costs as low as RM 148.80 per month over 36 months and the iPhone 6s Plus 16GB at RM 165.80 over the same period as well, both under the i40 plan by U Mobile.
