After all that huge data quota and free unlimited data roaming announcement, U Mobile is off to launch another groundbreaking value added service that users will love. From today onwards, U Mobile customers on P70, i90 and i130 will be able to stream Standard Definition quality videos with their data plan without using up any quota, the Video-Onz service will allow you to stream YouTube, HyppTV Everywhere, Viu, iflix, Youku Tudou, Astro on the Go, tonton, Eros Now, Herotalkies, ONFM and Pocketimes at absolutely no extra charge while not affecting your precious data quota, which is definitely an exciting service from the fast growing telco. In conjunction with the launch, TM’s HyppTV is offering 2 months free access for their live channels on the HyppTV Everywhere service, Viu is offering 60 days premium access and Herotalkies will also be offering 1 month free trial to U Mobile customers.
Prior to this, U Mobile has already offered unlimited video streaming for YouTube and tonton daily from 2am-10am which is still ongoing despite of the new service, this value added service has resulted in fourteen times increase of data usage since then, in fact 45 percent of the telco’s data traffic may be attributed to video streaming as quoted by Jasmine Lee, CMO of U Mobile. “We are a data centric telco, one is that always looking at ways to provide best value and best data experience to our customers, Video-Onz is a win win for both our partners and U Mobile.”
For U Mobile customers who are on other postpaid plan and broadband plan, fret not as U Mobile will be offering 100% additional quota on top of your existing quota for Video-Onz, prepaid customers who are subscribed to UMI 30 and above will also get 100% more quota than the usual allocated quota as well. Video-Onz is automatically activated for all U Mobile customers with an active data plan, there’s no activation process required.
