Remember the time when a guy got a fully functional Windows 95 operating on an Apple Watch? He’s back again this time with a different custom project, a beautiful hack to be precise. Call it the peacemaker for the endless Android VS iOS war. Alex Lee from Tendigi has taken liberty to get Android running on an iPhone, via a custom built case.

This hack of course, requires some level of engineering skills. Lee obtained a 3D model from Thingiverse as the case for the iPhone 6S Plus as shown in the video. He had AOSP instealled on a ARM Cortex-A53 powered Lemaker HiKey development board, which is an open source hardware for innovators like Lee to tinker on. A 650mAh battery was added to provide the custom case with its own power source.

Lee then built a custom iOS app as well, for it to interact with the Android board. The full process of Lee’s project can be accessed right here. Based on the video, a short demo by Lee shows a full fledged Android OS running on the iPhone 6S Plus. Perhaps, it won’t be too much to expect an iOS case for Android smartphones in the future? What do you think?
