Chinese smartphone manufacturers not only compete with flagships, but they also make sure that things are well covered in the other end of the smartphone line as well. ZTE makes its attempt yet again, at producing a super budget smartphone and bringing the best specs for its price tag.

Introducing the ZTE Blade A2, whose spec sheet can be considered as mid range since mid range phones are closing in on flagship models. First of all, the Blade A2 features a metal chassis, which is ultra rare for entry level smartphones. On the front is a 5-inch display with 720p resolution, which isn’t too shabby considering the screen size. Underneath the hood is a MediaTek MT6750 octa core processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage.

On the camera side of things, we aren’t looking at a lowly 5 or 8MP primary camera alongside a VGA or 2MP front facing camera. Instead, the Blade A2 sports a 13MP PDAF rear camera and a 5MP selfie shooter, a common setup on mid rangers. Also, both the rear and front cameras have LED flashes respectively. The impressive spec sheet for its price doesn’t end here, the Blade A2 also has a rear fingerprint sensor, a feature which is probably non-existent on entry level smartphones. It packs a 2,500mAh battery, which isn’t much to shout about, but should be sufficient given the fact that it will only need to power a 720p display instead of a 1080p one.

The ZTE Blade A2 comes at an amazingly low price point of 700 CNY (RM431.96). Pretty much a super low cost device for what it offers in terms of its specs. For now, the ZTE Blade A2 appears to be China-exclusive. What do you think?
