The Xiaomi Mi watch has been launched today and, well, it looks a lot like the Apple Watch. It has a 1.78-inch AMOLED panel that pushes a 326 ppi pixel density.

The watch head itself is metal accented with an aluminium matte finish, giving it its Apple Watch-like aesthetic. It has a ceramic back which is where you’ll find its charging pins as well as heart rate sensor.

The watch runs on MIUI based on Google Wear OS. Under the hood is a Snapdragon Wear 3100 4G chipset along with 1GB RAM and 8GB storage.

It also has two microphones on two sides for recording audio and taking calls – and speaking of calls, it supports eSIM along with WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth and NFC – however we’re not sure if the latter will be available in the global version.

The Mi Watch also fulfils its fitness tracker requirements with features such as sleep tracking along with your usual suite of personal coach modes.

The Xiaomi Mi Watch is priced at CNY 1,299 (RM766) which is expectedly a heck of a lot cheaper than an Apple Watch. It will be available in China this week, however, there’s no word on when we can expect the global version yet. We’ll surely keep you updated when it arrives here in the country.
