The wait is over — the Xiaomi Mi A3 is officially launched in Malaysia starting at the price of RM899, and yes, it has many upgrades over the Mi A2.
Equipped with a 6.088-inch AMOLED display, the Mi A3 comes with a bigger screen than its predecessor and has a dot drop notch. In addition, it has a 3D curved glass design that comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 to ensure that it’s not easily damaged. The Mi A3 also has an in-screen fingerprint sensor which is said to be more reliable due to enhancements on its pixel and sensor size. You can also opt for AI face unlock if in-screen fingerprint sensors aren’t your cup of tea.
Aside from a design upgrade, the Mi A3 is also more powerful as it’s integrated with a Snapdragon 665 AIE processor that has improved AI processing and ships with Android One. The phone has two storage configurations — 4GB RAM + 64GB storage or 4GB RAM + 128GB storage — and now comes with a MicroSD card slot for expandable storage.
Apart from that, the Mi A3 now comes with a triple rear camera setup and an amazing selfie camera. Its rear houses a 48MP main camera paired with an 8MP ultra wide angle lens and a 2MP depth sensor while its front holds a 32MP selfie camera that comes with AI portrait, AI scene detection and also panorama selfie. The ultra wide camera supports up to 118-degree field of view and features distortion correction so your scenery photos will not look distorted.
Housing a 4,030mAh battery, the phone supports 18W Fast Charge that offers long-lasting battery life. The phone charges via USB Type-C and there is a headphone jack for those who can’t live without their wired earphones.
The Mi A3 comes in three colours – More Than White, Not Just Blue and Kind of Grey. The 64GB storage variant will cost you RM899 while the 128GB storage variant will cost you RM999. The official sale will begin on August 3 on Lazada, Authorised Mi Stores and Shopee.
