The vivo S1 is a mid-ranger that puts as much money in its aesthetics as in their selfie offerings – the original was launched back in July offering fairly standard, if not decent internal hardware.
We’re not halfway through November vivo Malaysia has teased the arrival of its bigger sibling, the S1 Pro.
One key difference is that the Pro will sport a diamond-shaped camera module housing four lenses – one of which is a 48MP main lens that’s coupled with an 8MP superwide shooter. The selfie camera remains the same 32MP offering, so everything looks the same at the front.
The phone should still remain the same size too, but thankfully we’ll see an upgrade to its internals – there will apparently be a Snapdragon 665 as opposed to the original’s Mediatek Helio P65; 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. The phone is powered by a massive 4,500mAh battery that supports up to 18W fast charging via USB C.
In terms of colours, it we’ve seen Glowing Black and Crystal Blue – there’s no mention of the Diamond Black that made the original version stand out. From what we know now, the vivo S1 Pro will be smack-dab in the middle of the device class pecking order, and looks to be available in the Philippines first before it arrives in Malaysia. Still, we can expect it to come by December.
