Looks like HMD Global will be refreshing another Nokia phone that was released last year and this time its the Nokia 5. A Twitter user asked Juho Sarvikas, CFO at HMD Global if the 2018 Nokia 5 will arrive. He replied Stay Tuned which gives us a small hint that the Nokia 5 will be getting a refresh.
The first generation Nokia 5 came with great entry-level specs, like the Snapdragon 430, 3GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage. It also came with a 5.2-inch HD display and powering all of this is a 3,000mAh battery. The Nokia 5 was not the best device they released, but its built quality was top-notch and that really puts it aside from all the other entry-level phones. Similar to the other Nokia phones released, we should see a stock Android experience or the company might even go with the Android One program, as Nokia has been known to release updates faster than its competitors. With Android One running on their devices, this should grant them a larger lead compared to other manufacturers.
Sadly, there is no other information about this upcoming refresh, but if Nokia wants to keep up with the times, they need to push hard against the rest if they want to become one of the big players once again.
