The new MacBook Air starts at RM5,249 whereas the new Mac mini starts at RM3,499

Apple’s launch event that just ended in New York included the new Mac mini and the new MacBook Air, and these devices got several significant upgrades.

The 13-inch Retina display MacBook Air comes with Touch ID and 1.6GHz dual-core processor that has Turbo Boost up to 3.6GHz, in addition to having up to 16GB RAM with 1.5TB storage. The MacBook also sports an Intel UHD Graphics 617, has a Force Touch trackpad and backlit keyboard. It will cost you RM 5,249 onwards, with the highest RAM and storage costing you RM 11,229.

On the other hand, the Mac mini that is powered by the 3.6GHz quad-core 8th generation i3 processor with 8GB RAM paired with 128GB storage and has Gigabit Ethernet will cost you RM3,449 onwards, and if you choose the 10 Gigabit Ethernet speed you’ll need to add on another RM 440. Meanwhile, the 3.0GHz 6-core 8th generation i5 processor with Turbo Boost up to 4.1GHz and has 8GB RAM with 256GB SSD storage and Gigabit Ethernet is priced at RM4,699 onwards, and there are options to upgrade the RAM to 64GB and the storage to 2TB which each requires additional RM6,160.

Both the MacBook Air and MacBook mini are available for preorder on Apple’s official site, though it will be officially on sales from 7 November.
