The new Mac mini has up to 64GB RAM from $799

As Apple launches their event in New York today, the crowd couldn’t be more excited as the company introduces an upgraded Mac mini.

The new Mac mini is a powerhouse that comes with 6-core and quad-core 8th generation Intel Core processor that has Turbo Boost Speeds up to 4.6GHz which increases performance speed by 5 times, and unlike the previous model which has 16GB RAM, the new Mac mini can go up to 64GB RAM and supports all-flash storage with up to 2TB SSD which speeds up large files processing.

The Mac mini also sports the Apple T2 Security Chip which has an SSD controller that allows full encryption for high security in addition to 30x faster HEVC video transcoding, leading to higher performance efficiency. 

It now has four Thunderbolt 3 ports, a Gigabit Ethernet that supports 10Gb Ethernet, a HDMI 2.0 port, two USB-A ports and an audio jack. With the new Thunderbolt ports, uses can now access high speed storage in addition to 4K and 5K Thunderbolt displays and also output video in three formats. The macOS Mojave is also available in the new Mac mini which Apple decided to produce with 100% recycled aluminium and post-consumer recycled plastic in other parts to reduce the carbon footprint.

The Mac mini starts at the price of $799 with 8GB RAM, 3.6GHz Intel Core i3 and 128GB SSD storage but can be upgraded to 64GB RAM, 3.2GHz/4.6GHz Intel Core i7 with up to 2TB SSD storage and the option of 10Gb Ethernet. It is available to be pre-ordered today onwards and will be available on 7 November.
