Meizu hits the consumer market again with one of its budget boastfuls from its huge range of smartphones. This time round, the company has launched a fairly decent handset with an attractive price point on its home soil. The Meizu m5 Note sports an all rounder sort of mid range specs which shouldn’t disappoint at all.
For starters, the Meizu m5 note features a 5.5-inch display on the front at Full HD 1080p resolution. Meizu’s CEO has always been full of praises for MediaTek’s SoC’s so it is no surprise that Meizu opted with a MediaTek processor once again with this handset. Underneath the hood sits a MediaTek Helio P10 chipset, alongside memory configurations of 3GB RAM/16GB storage, 3GB RAM/32GB storage and 4GB RAM/64GB storage. Storage is further expandable via the micro SD card slot which supports up to 128GB.
The camera setup is pretty much the standard and what you would expect from a mid range smartphone in 2016. The m5 Note sports a 13MP rear facing camera, coupled with a 5MP front facing selfie shooter on the front. The rear and front cameras have apertures of f/2.2 and f/2.0 respectively. The fingerprint sensor of the m5 Note sits beneath the home button on the front, and the handset packs a larger than usual battery with a capacity of 4,000mAh, one-third more than what you would normally expect for a phone of its stature.
The Meizu m5 note will remain a China exclusive for the time being, carrying a price tag of 899 CNY (RM583.03) for the 3GB RAM/16GB storage model, 999 CNY (RM647.89) for the 3GB RAM/32GB storage model and 1,499 CNY (RM972.15) For the higher end 4GB RAM/64GB model, although we think that Meizu could do away with the first model.
