The Samsung S8 phones were the first to come with a dedicated voice assistant and on the phone, it was sadly mapped to Bixby and not Google Assistant. However, one company has made the dedicated assistant button better by allowing it to call up Google Assistant.
Based on reports from CNET, the upcoming LG G7 ThinQ could come with dedicated Google Assistant button. The G7 ThinQ, which will be unveiled in New York on 2nd May 2018, is said to come with a physical button on the left which will launch up Assistant, still a better option than calling up Bixby. It is still unknown if the company will allow users to remap or disable the button, as some users have reported that they are always calling up Bixby when they don’t intend to on the S8 phones.
Just like every other company that claims their phone has AI capabilities, the LG G7 ThinQ will come with AI features based on their ThinQ branding with the first phone being the LG V30S ThinQ. We might not see this phone in Malaysia but what do you think if more companies start implementing a dedicated button for Google Assistant?
