Huawei has debuted a budget handset, launching it alongside the Honor 8 at its India event earlier today. In conjunction with the Chinese company’s “made in India” initiative, the Honor Holly 3 is Huawei’s first ever phone made in India.
The budget Honor Holly 3 sports a 5.5-inch 720p HD IPS display with an anti-glare coating. Underneath the hood is Huawei’s own octa core HiSilicon Kirin 620 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz, alongside a Mali 450 graphics processor. Assisting the SoC is 2GB of RAM, and there is 16GB of internal memory that can be further expanded up to 128GB via the phone’s microSD card slot.
The Holly 3 features a 13MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, plus an 8MP selfie camera on the front with the same aperture and a pixel size of 1.12um. The budget handset is powered by a 3,100mAh battery, which Huawei claims to last nearly two days on average use and a little over a day under heavy use, which is pretty decent considering the phone’s 720p display. Other specs include support for 4G LTE, a dual SIM slot, and the Holly 3 runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box, masked with Huawei’s EMUI 4.1 skin.
The Honor Holly 3 is slated to go on sale in India soon, with a price tag of 9,999 INR and will be offered in Black, White and Gold color options. What do you think of Huawei’s first Indian phone?
