Huawei’s affordable Honor 6X by its subsidiary company Honor is one of the few affordable phones to keep an eye out on this year. The Honor 6X sports pretty impressive specs when you take its price point into consideration, including a well performing dual camera setup on the back. Apart from the fact that it isn’t a well built phone in terms of quality, the Honor 6X will definitely have a crowd of consumers on its own. On another note, Huawei has confirmed that the mid range device will be getting Nougat software next month.
According to the folks at Android Police, Huawei has informed them via email that the Honor 6X will be receiving the new EMUI (5.0) next month. EMUI 5.0 will be based on Google’s latest version of Android, Nougat. Huawei has reportedly promised a Nougat roll out within the first half of 2017 before this, so this new statement that the Honor 6X will get Nougat in Q1 2017 is definitely great news for users and potential buyers of the phone.
Huawei has stated in the email to Android Police that the new EMUI is updated based on customer feedback, so the software on the Honor 6X might slightly differ (in a good way) from the current Nougat powered Huawei Mate 9 handset. Are you currently operating Nougat on your own Android device?
