Since the whole hoo-ha of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, there have been rumors circulating around suggesting that South Korean manufacturer Samsung will treat its fans to an early launch of its next flagship – the Galaxy S8. However, rumors are still rumors and they change from time to time. Tipped for an MWC 2017 launch, it is now confirmed that the Galaxy S8 won’t be making an appearance at the Barcelona trade show.

According to Reuters, Samsung mobile chief Koh Dong-jin did not mention the exact date or time frame in which the Galaxy S8 will be launched, while addressing the press after Samsung finally revealed the cause(s) in detail behind the faulty Galaxy Note 7 phablet of last year. The news outlet however stated that Koh did mention that the 2017 Samsung Galaxy flagship will not be unveiled during MWC 2017 at Barcelona.

This could be possibly due to the fact that the company is making extra sure that the upcoming handset, or any future Samsung phone at all, will face the same fate as the disastrous Galaxy Note 7 which we can finally bid goodbye to, now that there’s an official explanation. One pattern to note is that the past three Samsung Galaxy S flagship smartphones (Galaxy S7, S6 and S5), were launched in MWC, whereas the Galaxy S4 had an exclusive launch in New York.

We shall not digest too many rumors for now, but the Galaxy S8 has been tipped for an April launch this year. When do you think the Samsung Galaxy S8 will be unveiled?
