Samsung isn’t sitting on its laurels on smartphone releases, while it is still riding high in momentum with its flagship Galaxy S23 series, the company has introduced the Galaxy A54 and A34 in Malaysia, these phones continue to feature the hallmarks of their predecessors, including IP67 water and dust resistance, optically stabilized cameras, large 5000mAh batteries with 25W fast charging, and both phones come with double the storage of their predecessors.
The Galaxy A54 interestingly feature a smaller 6.4-inch display as compared to its predecessor, its FHD+ Super AMOLED panel refreshes at 120Hz and pushes 1200 nits of peak brightness, which is a decent upgrade over its predecessors’ 800 nits of brightness.
In terms of performance, the phone is powered by an Exynos 1380 chipset while the Malaysian market gets on storage configuration of 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, the internal storage can still be further expanded with a MicroSD card, which makes it a big selling point as compared to other similar classed phones.
Like its predecessor, the Galaxy A54 doesn’t come with a headphone jack but comes with stereo speakers, it continues to sport a triple camera array with a similar design language as the Galaxy S23 series, though its main sensor has gotten a resolution downgrade to 50MP from 64MP, but we reckon that it has a larger sensor size that should see improvement in low light photography.
Otherwise, the optically stabilized main camera is joined by a 12MP ultrawide and 5MP macro lens, selfies are taken by a 32MP front camera.
As for the Galaxy A34, it surprisingly has a larger display than the A54 at 6.6-inches that’s also a FHD+ Super AMOLED panel that refreshes at 120Hz, its processing power is handled by a Mediatek Dimensity 1080 chipset and it is sold with 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage here, its triple camera configuration is similar to the Galaxy A54 albeit with a lower resolution, you get a 48MP main lens with OIS, an 8MP ultrawide and 5MP macro lens, the front camera also gets a resolution downgrade to 13MP.
Galaxy A54 and A34 Preorder Deals in Malaysia
The Galaxy A54 and A34 can now be preordered in Malaysia at RM1,899 and RM1,599 respectively, they also come in similar color options of Lime, Violet, Graphite and White.
