Remember when you had troubles with your homework and no one could help you figure it out, not even your parents? Well, that’s less likely to happen in China thanks to a startup known as Yuanfudao.

Yuanfudao is a six year old startup that has an app to help students in their homework. It can be used very easily, because students just need to snap a picture of their homework and the app will help them analyse and solve the question detected. The app is integrated with AI technology, so in time the homework app can be smarter and solve more problems.

That aside, Yuanfudao is also an app that offers a database of exam problems and live courses. The live courses are sold at certain prices to gain revenues, and the database helps students learn to answer different type of questions to ace their school exams.

According to the startup, the app has over 200 million users consisting of students and parents who use the app to check their children’s learning progress. The startup also raised $300 million recently, whereby the funding was led by their existing investor Tencent, which is one of China’s largest social networking and gaming company. Besides that, Yuanfudao’s worth also increased with other companies funding it, raising the company’s value to be more than $3 billion at the moment.

Indeed the smartphone technologies have been expanded over time and while in the past one can only rely on their friends, family and teachers, now they can get help through apps to assist them in their education.
