TECNO teases the arrival of its flip foldable phone in Malaysia

The Flip foldable phone playground is about to get more exciting, as TECNO, the smartphone brand under Transsion which also owns Infinix, has teased the arrival of its long-awaited Phantom V Flip, which is set to be the most affordable flip foldable phone in the market.

Though this isn’t the first foldable phone TECNO has introduced to Malaysia, its Phantom V Fold is the first foldable phone it has introduced albeit in a book style form factor, and compared to the competition, it retails at RM4,999, making it a very attractive choice back then.

Despite being positioned as a mid-range foldable, the Phantom V Flip still has a lot to impress when it comes to its hardware, it has a 6.9-inch LTPO AMOLED display that pushes FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, which is the largest of any other flip foldable phones, and it is complemented by a 1.32-inch round cover display.

Performance isn’t as shabby as well since it is powered by a Mediatek Dimensity 8050 chipset, which we have commended on the Infinix GT 10 Pro for its great gaming performance, it comes in one storage configuration of 8GB RAM and 256GB storage.

In terms of cameras, the Phantom V Flip has a dual camera setup that comprises a 64MP main camera without OIS and 13MP ultrawide camera, we presume only the main camera is capable of taking 4K 30fps videos, while the front camera is a 32MP lens that only takes up to 1440p videos at 30 fps.

What will attract the most would be its large 4000mAh battery, though small for bar type smartphones, it is in fact one of the largest battery capacities found on a flip foldable phone, and to shame the competition, it even supports 45W fast charging, though it unfortunately doesn’t support wireless charging.

The Phantom V Flip has already made its debut in India for Rs. 49,999 (RM2,832), and we have no doubts that TECNO Malaysia will be offering a similarly competitive price tag here, and probably give Samsung a good run for its money.
