At the unveiling of the TCL 50 Pro NXTPAPER, TCL Malaysia has surprised medias with the NXTPAPER 14, a budget 14.3-inch tablet that boasts the company’s NXTPAPER display technology, the company is hoping to bring in this monstrous reading tablet before the year closes or January 2025.

We first saw the NXTPAPER 14 at Mobile World Congress this year at TCL’s booth, I commended how good looking the screen is and its performance even by then is quite impressive.

The NXTPAPER 14 features a 14.3-inch 2.4K resolution display that refreshes at 60Hz, similar to the TCL 50 Pro NXTPAPER, you also get a physical NXTPAPER switch to switch between e-ink and color e-ink paper display modes on the screen to suit your reading experience. Despite being a 14-inch tablet, it has a very reasonable with of 760g, but nonetheless this is going to be a two-hand device.

Powering the tablet is a Mediatek Helio G99 chip paired to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, it has a 10000mAh battery to provide days of usage and supports 33W fast wired charging, a quad-speaker system that should deliver decent sound, and more impressively, it has two front facing cameras at 13MP + 5MP that does wide and ultrawide angles respectively for video calls, while the rear camera is a modest 8MP camera accompanied with a LED flash.

TCL Malaysia has not unveiled the price at the event, but if we were to refer its retail price in Taiwan that currently goes at NTD12,980 (RM1,775), it is quite an attractive price point if you are looking for a 14-inch tablet, as such tablets are usually priced way above the RM5000 price tag, hence expect prices to be even lower when it launches in Malaysia considering that our tax on electronics is lower than Taiwan.
