TCL has launched the TCL 50 Pro NXTPAPER in Malaysia, this mid-range device challenges similar segment smartphones with its eye-care NXTPAPER display, which features a matte surface that reduces glare and offers great visibility under sunlight, the phone is set to go on sale on 12th December 2024.
Compared to the TCL 40 NXTPAPER series launched last year, the TCL 50 Pro NXTPAPER boasts significant hardware upgrades, it has a 6.8-inch FHD+ display that refreshes at 120Hz, it also has a physical NXTPAPER hardware switch on the side that lets you toggle between an e-ink or color e-ink paper display mode, which offers a comfortable viewing experience that no other smartphones can do.
In addition, the phone is powered by a Mediatek Dimensity 6300 chip paired with 8GB RAM and 512GB of expandable storage, it has a 5000mAh battery that supports 33W fast wired charging, while it runs Android 14 out of the box, TCL promises up to 2 years of OS upgrades and 5 years of security patches, which is rather decent for mid-range phone standards.
In terms of cameras, the TCL 50 Pro NXTPAPER comes with a 108MP main, 8MP ultrawide and 2MP macro cameras, the front camera takes up to 32MP stills, while all cameras take 1080p videos at 30fps.
The TCL 50 Pro NXTPAPER comes in colors of Moon Gray and Alps White, it retails for RM1,199 in Malaysia and to sweeten the deal, TCL Mobile Malaysia is throwing in the official flip case and precision T-Pen stylus in the package.
