Synology DS1621+ NAS doubles performance with AMD Ryzen processor

Looking for more performance than ever to run apps and manage file transfers on your storage server? Synology has officially unveiled the DS1621+, a 6-bay NAS that’s powered by a quad-core AMD Ryzen V1500B processor, which Synology claims to have 2x processing power over its predecessor.

The DS1621+ can support up to a maximum sequential write speed of 1.1GB/s and have 4K Random read performance of 110K IOPS, these are staggering performance claims that can benefit users that depends heavily on NAS storage to access their files and running server applications on virtual machines.

In other hardware specifications, the DS1621+ comes fitted with 4GB of DDR4 ECC SODIMM RAM, customers can expand up to 32GB of RAM with two 16GB SODIMM sticks, storage can be expanded up to 16 bays with the DX517, a PCIe Gen3x8 slot is present for installing a 10GbE network card, it also has four GbE ports that support Link Aggregation and Failover and two NVMe drive slots for caching.

The Synology DS1621+ is currently available for purchase in Malaysia at authorised IT resellers, you can also purchase it from Lazada and Shopee.
