Sony's Dualshock 4 controller now fully supported on Steam

Remember that time where Valve announced that they will be working on Dualshock 4 support for Steam? Well, Valve has announced today that the Dualshock 4 is now fully supported on its gaming platform.

According to the patch notes, the Steam client will be able to recognize the Dualshock 4 controller in its entirely. This means that every part of the Dualshock 4 can be mapped to various functions in Steam, including the buttons, analog sticks, the trackpad and even the gyroscope. 

On top of that, the Dualshock 4 will also have access to the full rage of APIs that the Steam Controller has. Other features that the Dualshock 4 will have access to includes an LED control setting, a joystick-controlled mouse, haptic feedback preferences, and software-based gyroscope and accelerometer integration.

In short, the Dualshock 4 will be able to control the entirely of Steam in Big Picture mode. If you’ve already owned a PS4 at home, your Dualshock 4 controller can now double as your PC controller as well.
