The RX100 is Sony’s most capable compact camera, and the company is finally introducing the latest member of the RX100 to the Malaysian market, the RX100 VI brings significant upgrade from its predecessor, it features an all new 1-inch 20.1MP ZEISS Vario-Sonnar T* 24-200mm lens with an aperture range of F2.8-F4.5.

Like previous RX100 cameras, the RX100 VI continues to boast incredibly fast focusing speeds and burst shots, it sports Sony’s Fast Hybrid AF system that locks in focus in 0.03 seconds and has 315-point focal-plane phase-detection AF points, covering 65% of the sensor and contrast-detection AF. The RX100 VI also features a high speed Anti-Distortion Shutter that can perform as fast as 1/32000 second, when this electronic shutter is engaged, it is able to capture extremely fast moving objects with great clarity.

The RX100 VI has upgraded video recording capabilities, it now supports capturing 4K HDR footage, and videographers can take advantage of the S-Log3/S-Gamut3 to capture their footage in flat colors for advanced color grading in post production. The camera’s Fast Hybrid AF system also compliments it’s video recording capabilities, as it ensures accurate focusing and tracking performance. In 4K video recording, the RX100 VI utilizes full pixel readout to ensure all details in the frame are captured with minimal moire and ‘jaggies’. Finally, the RX100 VI is able to capture slow-mo videos at either 240fps, 480fps or 960fps.

For the first time ever on a RX100 series, the RX100 VI features a touch display and a high-contrast 2.35 million dot XGA OLED Tru-Finder, photographers can take advantage of the touch shutter by tapping on the LCD screen, the latter can be rotated 180 degrees upward or 90 degrees downward to achieve the desired shooting angle.

No price has been announced for the Sony RX100 VI, but do keep your eyes on Sony Stores when Sony Malaysia makes this available starting July 2018 onwards. Also, Sony is also introducing the VCT-SGR1 shooting grip accessory compatible with the RX100 and RX0, which will be available on August 2018 onwards.
