Sony is unmistakably leading the Hi-Res audio experience with its wide range of audio products, today the company celebrated its 70th anniversary year of its prestigious Walkman brand and launched the Signature series audio products, which comprises of the MDR-Z1R headphones, TA-ZH1ES headphone amplifier and NW-WM1 series Walkman player, all of which will take the audio listening experience to greater heights and engineered by experienced Sony sound engineers, all the Signature Series products are based on the newly standardised 4.4mm balanced connection.
MDR-Z1R Hi-Res Audio stereo headphones
This signature series headphones feature a wide frequency range that gives the luxury of a natural and open soundstage with up to 120kHz playback in High Resolution Audio, the huge 70mm HD driver unit increases the sound space to create natural sound with a controlled airflow and flat plane waves, sensitivity is rated at 100dB/mW with an impedance of 64Ω, it has a Resonance-Free Housing for elimination of unnecessary resonance, which delivers real atmosphere and fine detail.
Sony NW-WM1 Series Walkman Hi-Res Audio Player
The NW-WM1 series music players are designed to offer a superb listening experience with the complete support for all music files, including support for DSD Native format (11.2MHz), the WM1Z in particular comes with a gold-plated oxygen-free copper chassis that showcases Sony’s excellence in engineering, when held on hand, it really feels that you are holding a piece of expensive gem rather an electronic product, but if you think that’s too gaudy there’s the WM1A that comes with an aluminium finish.
In terms of its sound tech, the WM1 comes with Sony’s DSEE HX that upscales low bitrate audio to Hi-Res audio and users can choose the type of music being listened: Standard, Female Vocal, Male Vocal, Percussion, or Strings, a newly developed FT CAP built into the power supply of the amp section has four times higher output power than the current NW-ZX2 to drive any headphones. Lastly, the audio player comes with Bluetooth and LDAC should you want to listen music wirelessly.
TA-ZH1ES Hi-Res Audio headphone amplifier
The ZH1ES enables higher sound quality through your headphones by delivering High Resolution Audio (up to DSD 22.4MHz/PCM 768kHz/32bit) for a truly musical home listening experience. The D.A Hybrid Amplifier Circuit gives the combination of Sony’s full digital amplifer S-Master HX together with analog amplifier, and preserves the fine detail sound of S-Master HX and low distortion sound with the support of analog amplifier.
For preserving original sound, the ZH1ES has the new DSEE HX feature that is also on the WM1 series Walkman and DSD Remastering Engine which converts PCM source to DSD 11.2MHz.
