Sony introduces the CAS-1 Hi-Res Audio desktop audio system

Sony is closing up 2015 on a high note as the company has just introduced the CAS-1, a compact audio systems for the desktop.

Inheriting the design from Sony’s line of high-end ES systems, the CAS-1 is focused on creating an ideal acoustic field on your desktop. The system is made up of a main unit and two separate speakers to enhance sound and supports Hi-Res Audio in both DSD1 and PCM formats, including FLAC, WAV or AIFF files of up to 24bit/192kHz quality. Non Hi-Res audio files such as MP3s are upscaled via Sony’s unique DSEE HX technology.

Featuring two independent dedicated amplifiers, the CAS-1 is tailored towards the specific requirements of speakers or headphones. Integration of Sony’s S-Master HX Hi-Res Audio amplifier for the speakers further enhances music by reducing distortion and noise and Pulse Height volume will not sacrifice any data to control volume, resulting in a crystal clear, crisp sound at any volume level. The headphone amplifier, which can be found in Sony’s other Hi-Res Audio models, contributes to the CAS-1’s ability to produce a blanaced, powerful and precise sound.

Connectivity to the CAS-1 can be done wirelessly via Bluetooth or NFC. USB-A and USB-B ports are also available for Hi-Res Audio playback. The CAS-1 is now available and retails for RM4,199.
